This tutorial covered how to cut out an image or remove and delete a background. This is done using the magnetic lasso tool combined with the polygonal lasso tool and masks. I believe that this will be a very helpful and efficient tool to use because it automatically outlines the image as you go based on what it thinks is correct, but you can also go back in after and manipulate it to look the way that you want. This could be used for things like collages or layering different images.

This tutorial covered how to change your image into a cartoon effect. This is done by using the selection tool to select the parts of the image that you would like to change and then using different filters like the oil paint filter and changing the values in the filter to give it a cartoonish look. He also changed the sharpness of the image using other filters. I think this is a fun technique to use and it is an easy way to really transform an image to make it stand out.

This tutorial covered how to retouch the skin in an image. This is done by selecting the area that you would like to smooth out and making it its own layer. Then you use a mask to smooth the area where the skin meets the hair to make the retouching appear more natural. Then you use the blur option to smooth out the skin in the selected area. Next, you would remove the blurring in areas of the face where you would like to keep the details, such as the eyes, eyebrows, and lips. This would come in very handy when editing an image of a person and you would want to remove any blemishes or imperfections.
